No matter when you want to visit the happiest place on earth, Disneyland will always be a park with lots of people and long waiting lines. And since everyone wants to have a fun and stress-free vacation, I decided to write this article with seven clever and easy Disneyland Paris hacks that every person must know!

#1. Bring your own drinks and snacks

Food and drinks aren’t cheap in Disneyland, but did you know that you’re allowed to bring your own food and drinks with you? No worries, you don’t have to take the biggest backpack ever with you and pack it with 20 bottles of water to stay hydrated during te day. You can easily re-fill your empty bottles in the park for free. How? Just search for one of the many water fountains in the park.

Set aside some money for that one snack that you absolutely HAVE to eat in Disneyland (whether it’s the cutest Mickey macaron or a star-shaped pizza) and keep your belly happy with your own drinks and snacks for the rest of the day. This way you can also save some money for a little Disney souvenir ; )

#2. Download the free Disneyland app

You can find almost everything with this easy app, such as: the current wait times for every attraction, detailed maps of the Disneyland Park and the Walt Disney Studios Park, where and when you can meet Disney characters and much more. If you want to see the current wait times and find the Disney characters in this app, you will need internet connection. But you don’t need internet to see the map of both parks.

#3. Skip long waiting lines by taking the single rider line

If you don’t mind sitting next to other people (you will probably be separated from your friends and family) or if you want to ride an attraction alone, you should definitely choose for the single rider line. These lines are always shorter and sometimes you don’t even have to wait at all. #YesPlease!

#4. Save precious time with a Fastpass

This might sound a little bit complicated, but this it how it works: if you see a fun ride with a long waiting line, you can choose to use a Fastpass. Search for the Fastpass distribution centers near one of your favorite rides (download the Disneyland app to find out which rides have Fastpass tickets, or CLICK HERE). With this ticket, you don’t have to stand in the waiting lines and you can do other fun things in the park instead. There’s a time printed on your ticket, so make sure to come back at this time to skip the long lines and enjoy your ride without waiting!

Keep in mind that not every ride has it’s own Fastpass and you can only hold one pass at a time. Another Fastpass will be available after the time printed on your first ticket.

#5: Get the best spots to watch the parade and fireworks

In summer, the Magical Parade starts at 17h30 and the fireworks start at 23h00. If you arrive 30 minutes early, you’re already too late (like, really?!). You can watch the Magical Parade in Main Street U.S.A, where everyone wants to stand on the sidewalks so you can see the parade perfectly. This means you have to be there one hour before the parade starts if you actually want to see the parade and not the heads of all the people in front of you.

But don’t worry, you don’t have to stand the entire time. You can sit on the sidewalk, which actually is a perfect time to rest a little and eat a snack or drink something. If the parade starts you have to stand again, but you’ll be standing front row since you already sat on the sidewalk.Woohoo! Make sure you choose a spot on a corner of the streets, so you can see the most of the parade. The fireworks work exactly the same: make sure you’re early to get the best spot and relax or eat something before the show starts.

#6. Popular rides first

If you would like to go to very popular or new attractions, make sure you go right after the park opens. Especially if your favorite ride doesn’t have a Fastpass service (see tip 4). I did this with Ratatouille: The Adventure. I went to Disneyland Paris in the summer vacation and of course the waiting lines were so terribely long. We found out that the waiting time for Ratatouille was 120 minutes. 120 MINUTES! That’s crazy!

So the second day, we decided to go to this ride immediately after the park opened. It was early and we still had to wait in a small line, but imagine how long that line would have been a few hours later! So you should definitely go to your favorite ride first.

#7. Park closed? Shop at Disney Village!

The Disney parks can close pretty early, but chances are that you’re not ready to go back to your hotel after closing time. If you’re still wide awake and would love to do some shopping, then you should definitely visit Disney Village. It’s very close to the parks and gives to plenty of time to do some Disney merchandise shopping, go to one of the many restaurants and maybe even visit the cinema. Click here to discover everything in Disney Village!
